Expertise

Combined expertise under one roof.

We group our work into specialised areas under one roof: nokkela.systems for IT infrastructure, nokkela.host for VMs, containers, CEPH block storage and GPU acceleration, nokkela.network for Palo Alto firewalls and Zero Trust, nokkela.cloud for S3 object storage and Nextcloud, nokkela.ai for AI consulting and nokkela.io for AI agents. The same technology base sits underneath all of them.

Technologies & providers

Built on proven ground

We build on five established third-party products and services: DTS for managed security and cloud from its own German data centres, Palo Alto Networks for next-generation firewalls and Zero Trust, Thomas-Krenn for custom-configured servers and storage from Germany, Hetzner for dedicated servers and colocation, and q.beyond for cloud and managed services. We name them descriptively; no partnership is implied.

All brand names, trademarks and logos are the property of their respective owners. They are named solely to describe the products and services we use and do not imply any partnership, cooperation or mutual endorsement.

Our approach

Sovereign – data residency in Europe

Our purely European cloud and infrastructure guarantees maximum data security in line with the GDPR.

Complementary – specialised disciplines

Our areas of expertise mesh perfectly to map your entire digital value chain seamlessly from a single source.

Cross-border – international reach

We support you across borders throughout the DACH region, Scandinavia and the English-speaking world.

Frequent questions

Questions about our partners

Below are the questions we are asked most often about this area. Each answer is written to stand on its own, so it stays correct when quoted alone.

Is Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH a partner or reseller of Palo Alto Networks, DTS or Thomas-Krenn?

Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH claims no partner or reseller status: it names DTS, Palo Alto Networks, Thomas-Krenn, Hetzner and q.beyond solely to describe the products and services it uses. Naming them implies no partnership, cooperation or mutual endorsement, and all brand names, trademarks and logos remain the property of their respective owners. We work vendor-independently and select each component on technical grounds.

Which Nokkela service is each of these products used in?

Each product maps to one discipline in the Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH group: Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls and Zero Trust sit behind nokkela.network, Thomas-Krenn servers and storage systems behind nokkela.host with its VMs, containers, CEPH block storage and GPU acceleration, and the managed and hosted services of DTS, Hetzner and q.beyond behind nokkela.systems. Storage services such as S3 object storage and Nextcloud run on nokkela.cloud.

What does Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH deploy from Palo Alto Networks and where do the firewalls run?

Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH deploys Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls and Zero Trust security as the network-security technology behind nokkela.network. Where the appliance physically sits depends on the setup: in an on-premise project it runs in the client's own rack, in a hosted setup in infrastructure we operate in Europe. The product, its licences and its software updates come from the vendor; we plan, configure and operate the deployment.

Why Thomas-Krenn servers and who owns the hardware in a project?

Thomas-Krenn supplies custom-configured server and storage systems manufactured in Germany, which Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH sources for the infrastructure behind nokkela.host. Configuring each machine rather than buying a fixed model keeps CPU, RAM, disks and GPU acceleration matched to the workload. Ownership follows the model: in an on-premise project the hardware belongs to and stands with the client, in a hosted setup it stays in racks we operate in Europe.

What roles do DTS, Hetzner and q.beyond play and when is each one used?

DTS, Hetzner and q.beyond are the service providers Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH draws on, and each covers a different need. DTS provides IT security, managed services and cloud from its own German data centres for secure, sovereign operation; Hetzner provides dedicated servers, cloud and colocation in its own data centres where powerful, cost-efficient capacity is wanted; q.beyond, a listed provider from Cologne, adds cloud, SAP, managed services and cybersecurity when a project calls for it.

How does Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH decide which third-party product to use?

Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH selects established products and services against three criteria: independence, openness and European sovereignty. Independence means no vendor dictates the architecture, openness means open interfaces and formats so a component can be exchanged later, and European sovereignty means the provider or the hardware keeps the data on infrastructure in Europe. Where an established product is technically the best fit, we use it instead of building our own.

Does our data stay in Europe when these third-party providers are involved?

The providers Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH sources services from operate their own data centres in Germany: DTS, Hetzner and q.beyond. Palo Alto Networks and Thomas-Krenn supply products rather than hosting – firewalls and servers that run in racks operated either by the client or by us in Europe. Data processed on that infrastructure is handled to GDPR standard. Where a component would move data outside Europe, we say so before it is used.
